Structural Engineer - 5-10 years experience - Design of residential, commercial, or industrial structures including modeling and structural simulation.


Genesis Dimensions is a 5-year-old company developing technology and methods for construction automation and large-scale 3D printing.  Over the past 5 years, we have developed and tested a small-scale demonstration unit that is capable of 3D printing form-work and other construction projects.  We are in the process of building out numerous large-scale technologies and are looking for engineers that are looking for a challenge while growing their career.


The ideal candidate is highly motivated and can work on agile development teams to design 3D printable structures.  Qualifications include a BS in civil/structural engineering and 5-10 years of related experience designing residential, commercial, or industrial structures.  Experience with design CMU, ICF, or traditional concrete shear walls is a plus.  We are looking for a self-performing engineer to design and test 3D printed construction methods as well as structures using the developed methods.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil/Structural Engineering (M.S. or PhD a plus) 
  • 5-10 years of experience performing design/build of residential, commercial, or industrial structures
  • TX licensed Professional Engineer, or the ability to obtain within one year
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Experience successfully interacting and working with customers at multiple levels of responsibility
  • Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary to meet project requirements and goals
  • Have solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check

Responsibilities:

  • Provide component and system level designs for structures
  • Test and Validate designs via full structural analysis, modeling, and simulation
  • Produce and Test prototype/scale models as necessary
  • Develop drawings and documentation for component/plan construction 
  • Support team in planning the build of the structure
  • Create, document, and coordinate testing of designs when necessary to validate performance per design specifications, required ASTM standards, etc.
  • Develop material and structural test plans as necessary for building code approval
  • Work successfully in a team design/build environment; with emphasis on continued learning and personal growth.
